Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 3 September 2026. These Terms govern your use of KasiOS™, operated by THETRENDSETTA (PTY) LTD, a company registered in the Republic of South Africa.
1Business & Contact
By creating a KasiOS account, whether as a shop owner or a staff member added by one, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use KasiOS.
2Description of Service
KasiOS™ is a point-of-sale and business management platform for South African spaza shops, tuck shops and informal traders. It includes, without limitation:
- A point-of-sale (POS) checkout for recording cash and card payments
- Inventory, supplier and stock management tools
- An AI business assistant that surfaces insights from your own sales data
- Customer records and WhatsApp notification tools
- Subscription plans and billing management
We may add, change or discontinue features at any time. New features may carry additional terms.
3Shop Owner Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- The accuracy of your shop profile, product prices and stock levels
- Any staff accounts you create and the actions taken under them
- Your own compliance with tax, consumer protection and other laws applicable to your shop's sales
- Obtaining lawful consent from your customers before storing their name, phone number or WhatsApp opt-in
- Not using KasiOS for fraud, money laundering, or any illegal purpose
KasiOS is a technology platform, not a party to the sale of goods between you and your customers. Disputes about goods or services you sell remain between you and your customer, subject to the Consumer Protection Act.
4Subscription & Billing
KasiOS is offered on Starter, Growth and Enterprise plans. Paid plans are billed monthly in South African Rand (ZAR) and processed through PayFast, our authorised South African payment gateway. We do not store your full card or banking credentials.
Every new shop starts on a 14-day free trial. No card details are required to begin, and nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends — you are only billed if you choose to start a paid subscription. At the end of the 14 days, access to your shop is restricted to Billing and Settings until a paid subscription starts. Your data is retained and becomes available again as soon as you subscribe.
By starting a paid subscription you authorise PayFast to charge your selected payment method the plan's recurring monthly fee until you cancel.
To cancel, contact us at hello@thetrendsetta.com from the email address on your account. We will cancel the recurring subscription and confirm in writing within 5 business days. Cancellation stops future charges, and access continues until the end of the paid period already billed.
Enterprise pricing is negotiated directly and may carry separate written terms that take precedence over this section where they conflict.
5Point-of-Sale Transactions
For cash and card sales, KasiOS records the transaction for your own reporting; the movement of money for cash and (unless stated otherwise) card payments happens outside KasiOS, between you and your customer or your card acquirer. KasiOS records the sale; it does not move the money.
6AI Features
AI-generated insights, stock predictions and business suggestions are informational only. They are based on your own recorded data and general patterns, are not guaranteed to be accurate, and do not constitute financial, tax or legal advice. You remain responsible for your own business decisions.
7Limitation of Liability
KasiOS is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, THETRENDSETTA (PTY) LTD is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform, including lost sales from downtime.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the subscription fees you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, except for our obligations relating to your subscription fees.
8Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of South Africa.
9Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of KasiOS after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
